What Are YOU Reading?

Call this post abstract.  Call it random.  Call it what you want.  The point is, it doesn't relate in the least to Pumpkin Head Publishing, Sarah, or London.

I am only looking for some brave people to start a discussion with.  I posed this question to a friend just last night.  But now I'm hoping to pose this question to some horse-loving souls.  I don't care if the book is equine related or not, I just want to know what you're reading.  Or if you have a book to recommend, go ahead and post it.

I just started a book called. Chosen by a Horse, by Susan Richards.  It's entertaining, to say the least.  Well, I'm not sure that is the right word choice.  It's heartwarming in some ways, sad in others.  I guess it's entertaining in that it is a very emotionally driven book.  It's a chance to see how the author's mind works.  We will see what I think about it once I am further in.  I am hoping to start The Soul of  Horse: Life Lessons from the Herd, by Joe Camp.  We'll see if a student snatches it up from the library before I get a chance to.

Now it's your turn.

  1. Just as a follow up, I finished reading Chosen by a Horse. I never really laughed, and the author didn't ever really touch me herself. However, some of her words did touch me, like the way she explained her love and grief when it comes to horses and how horses began and ended her day and everything in between didn't matter. I did wish that I knew the author's friend, and I did feel drawn toward the horse this book is about. And I will admitt, I bawled like a child at the end. Mostly because I could relate, in some ways, to the situation. It is a shorter book, so a fast read. And it is a reminder of how loving and generous an equine can be.
