Editing "Saving London"

I just thought I would make a quick post announcing that I am just over 1/3 through editing Saving London.  For those that don't know what this means, I have 2/3 to go before I can send the edited and re-formatted manuscript to the printers to have another print run completed.  So I will finally have more copies of the first novel in the Sarah and London series to distribute.  Which also means that with that major task done, I can move on to finishing writing my fourth book in the series!  Yay!

Still sitting on the website.  Tech support was no help, so we will try to find other means.  Still anxiously awaiting being able to announce its arrival.

I have also been working here and there on continuing to develop the story idea for another equine novel, geared for a slightly older audience, that will be outside of the Sarah and London series.  This character just refuses to back down and let me finish my other projects so I am letting her story slowly unfold.  This is the first manuscript I am not writing by hand, first.  Should be interesting.

I only have one more week until Spring Break begins, and that should bring some major changes to the editing pace of Saving London.  Lily, my mare, will be moving to the barn this upcoming weekend, as well, which should bring its own bouts of inspiration for the fourth novel.  We will see what happens in the next little while.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Hope everyone is enjoying this day of green!

Once again, not a significant amount to report here.  I'd love to be getting some comments from people on other posts.  You don't need to create an account or even give your name.  Make up a username if you want.  But interaction is way more fun.  I know I have people reading this other than me.  My stats tell me so.

The whole website thing is being frustrating.  First I scrapped my HTML work and opted for a program, bought the domain, but having issues with the hosting.  So hoping to get some tech support soon, but who knows when?  This waiting is about as bad as waiting for the printers to do anything.

Hoping to do some more editing of the first book tonight.  It's tricky to be re-reading my own work.  Especially something so "rough" so to speak, as Saving London.  I don't want to change it too much because it was the basis of the whole series, and it was who I was and what my writing was at that period in my life.  But all the same, I see a dramatic difference now compared to the past.  But the goal is to only fix the typos, nothing more.  Well, and to re-format the whole thing.  The printers did it for me and I never was satisfied with it.  But after doing two others, I'm confident in my formatting abilities and will finally make the final product the one I envisioned at the start.

Will continue to update as things change.  Fingers crossed that with the next post comes the release of the website!

What Are YOU Reading?

Call this post abstract.  Call it random.  Call it what you want.  The point is, it doesn't relate in the least to Pumpkin Head Publishing, Sarah, or London.

I am only looking for some brave people to start a discussion with.  I posed this question to a friend just last night.  But now I'm hoping to pose this question to some horse-loving souls.  I don't care if the book is equine related or not, I just want to know what you're reading.  Or if you have a book to recommend, go ahead and post it.

I just started a book called. Chosen by a Horse, by Susan Richards.  It's entertaining, to say the least.  Well, I'm not sure that is the right word choice.  It's heartwarming in some ways, sad in others.  I guess it's entertaining in that it is a very emotionally driven book.  It's a chance to see how the author's mind works.  We will see what I think about it once I am further in.  I am hoping to start The Soul of  Horse: Life Lessons from the Herd, by Joe Camp.  We'll see if a student snatches it up from the library before I get a chance to.

Now it's your turn.

It's Been Awhile!

I know, I know, I haven't posted in awhile.

But here I am, posting, finally.  There just hasn't been a whole ton to report.  I've been doing the usual.  Depositing a cheque, dropping off some books (for any libraries following this who are waiting for books to arrive, it should be soon!).  I have been replying to a few emails.  The website has been on hold for a little bit.  That's about it.

I'm looking forward to spring break in 2 weeks to get some book stuff done, but that's gonna be a very busy week between spring cleaning, working on the books, and moving Lily.  It should be productive, to say the least!

I'm thinking when I get Saving London reprinted we should do something to celebrate.  Any suggestions?

First Post of March!

The weather outside is nasty.  So that should keep me inside and working over the rest of the week.  I only have about 2 or 3 pages left to build on the website.  So it will be a matter of finding the time to finish that up. I never realized how truly time consuming it would be.  When I did it for school, our pages were just whipped together with a little information thrown on.  But this time it takes some major planning and a lot of taking the time to select the right info.

On another note, I may have my first author visit of the summer lined up shortly.  I am looking forward to that.  I will, with permission, release details once things are planned.  It was thanks to a friend who took the time to mention me.  Once again, it is just further proof that I wouldn't be able to do what I do without the support and help from others.  It means everything.

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot to report until more things progress and unfold.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I'll be sure to write more next time.
